Our Story
Formed in 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah, The Backyard Revival is the musical collaboration of singer-songwriters Sarah Little Drum and Brian Bingham. Blending the soul of folk-Americana with the intimacy of acoustic jazz, bluegrass, and modern singer-songwriter traditions, the duo creates music that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
Drawing inspiration from artists like The Civil Wars, JOHNNYSWIM, and Elephant Revival, The Backyard Revival is defined by heartfelt harmonies, evocative storytelling, and an organic acoustic sound that carries listeners from quiet reflection to foot-stomping joy.
After seven years of writing, recording, and performing in the Mountain West, the band relocated in May 2025 to Asheville, North Carolina—a community rich in roots and folk traditions that now shapes the next chapter of their musical journey.
With a name that hints at music’s ability to bring people together in simple, authentic spaces, The Backyard Revival invites audiences to gather close, listen deep, and rediscover the beauty of song shared face-to-face.
